What is GovSnacks?

GovSnacks was created to help everyday Australians stay informed about the issues that matter most to them.
By leveraging AI, GovSnacks breaks down the overwhelming volume of information published by Parliament into accessible bite-sized “snacks”.
GovSnacks was originally created as a prototype for GovHack 2024, an international competition that challenges participants to turn government data into practical solutions. GovSnacks has since evolved into a powerful tool for both professionals and everyday Australians, delivering straightforward, no-nonsense insights that keep you in the know.
GovSnacks has been recognised for its innovation and impact, winning:
🥇 International ‘AI in Governance’ prize sponsored by Infosys.
🥇 National ‘Transform Bureaucratic Jargon Into Plain English’ prize sponsored by The Treasury.
🏅 Honourable mention for the National ‘Civic Participation for a More Resilient, Cohesive Democracy’ prize sponsored by the Department of Home Affairs.
